Some of them, such as Legionella pneumophila, proliferate in silence, until they trigger fatal pulmonary infections for vulnerable people.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">To protect the population from the risk of legionellosis, regulations require close monitoring of sanitary systems, as well as shock disinfection treatments if critical thresholds are reached.<\/p>\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-f418b31 elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"f418b31\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t<h2 class=\"elementor-heading-title elementor-size-default\">Sanitary water systems to be <b>closely monitored<\/b><\/h2>\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-4bb4fe1 elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"4bb4fe1\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-e-type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p class=\"p1\"><strong>Legionella<\/strong>\u00a0are micro-organisms naturally present in lake and river water. But in the wild, the concentrations are not high enough to present a danger for human health.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">On the other hand, poorly designed or maintained sanitary systems can quickly act as an \u201cincubator\u201d for legionella, which are fond of limescale, stagnant water, and water heated to around 40-50\u00b0. These pathogenic bacteria, carried by hot water under pressure, are then inhaled in the form of water vapor or droplets.<\/p>\n<p class=\"p1\">Consequently, some public buildings must be closely monitored to avoid any risk for fragile people, whose immune system is weakened. Among these establishments that must\u00a0<strong>implement monitoring measures for facilities at risk of legionella<\/strong>, we find <u>the following:<\/u><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p1\">Hospitals,
